Papa Lou, Lake Fair, Girls Camp and more......

Papa Lou:

Isaiah's father, Angelo, came up from Southern California to visit the family this last week. He owns a business and had a meeting with the state so he came up for an extended weekend to hangout and enjoy some time with his four grand babies. He is such a fun grandpa. Kaylee just loves him and this time she actually called him Papa.

Can you tell where she gets the crazy hair!!

Lake Fair:

Lake Fair is a yearly tradition for us Olympians. It is a time of great food, fun, friends, and of course FIREWORKS!!
This year was Kaylee's first experience with the fair. She had her first taste of an elephant ear and greasy fair fries compliments of the Bippert family. Isaiah and I went down on Thursday night to walk around and look at the booths. As we were standing in line we realized how old we were. Looking to the left and right there were little teeny boppers all around us. I felt really old pushing a stroller. :)

Kaylee and I met up with Amy, Sam, Joe and Corinne on Saturday night to again eat some great food and walk around to all of the booths. Then Sunday rolled around and Joe went out early in the morning to stake out a great firework viewing spot on the capital campus. Here is me waiting for the show to start!

Papa Lou joined us for the celebration that night and bought Kaylee a bubble gun. This was nothing like I had as a kid. When I think of bubbles I think of dipping a stick into a sticky solution and blowing at the hole and hoping you make some bubbles. Then of course, repeating this over and over for entertainment.
Not this generation. They have a battery power gun that lights up and shoots out hundreds of bubbles. Not fair! Here Papa Lou is trying to show her what to do.

BUBBLES!!!

So after about an hour of entertaining eachother it was time for the fireworks to start.
The first one went off and to our surprise it was completely in a different spot than we were all looking. Every year they have the fireworks directly over capital lake. This year they changed that idea and didn't let anyone know. Thousands of people on the capital campus lawns where completely unable to see the show! Luckily for us we were right near the parking lot so we ran down there and watched the show over the trees.
Thanks anyways Joe! It was worth a shot!

Girls Camp:

This week was also girls camp. All of the girls go out to Camp Zion way out in the woods. It is such a cool place and the food is just amazing. I know you are probably thinking "food?" but yes, the food at Girls Camp is amazing! Sister Nelson is the best cook ever!!
I wasn't able to go and serve with them for the entire week because I had school but Amy and I drove out to see them on Wednesday night. We all did a service project and then played a mock version of Amazing Race all over camp. It was a blast!
Here are a few pictures from the service project. Bishop Shirley was able to come up and help too and he brought some really tasty donuts!

Wednesday was crazy hair day too!

This is most of the girls of Oly 4th Ward Young Women's!
Oh....and Bishop!

Even through the heat and sweat the girls did an amazing job!
We cleared a walking trail through the woods. Hard work but it was fun!

The Park:

With the beautiful weather we are having this week we are trying to get outside as much as possible. Isaiah and Kaylee dropped me off today at school and headed to the park.
As you can see Kaylee has a new war wound on her head. This was from trying to hide her face from me at the grocery store and scratching herself with her nail. Aww.... never ending... :)
But finally.......
A REALLY CUTE SMILE!!

Before they picked me up she had to grab as many
pine cones as she could hold... we are starting a collection! :)

Isaiah took a video of her running to a puppy on the other side of the park.
I can't even see the dog in the video but she hears it and starts running. She is getting really fast.
Her run however reminds me of the Friends episode when Rachel is trying to teach Phoebe to run....haha..... You Tube it if you haven't seen it...
(Don't mind the daddy talk....)

And finally....

This is the face she makes when you ask her to close her eyes!
She always looks like she is thinking really hard about something...
Makes me laugh every time!

  1. The video of Kaylee does remind me of that Friends episode. Funny! She's quite adorable though and I don't think anyone would say that about Phoebe! :)
