My little baby had her first trip to the Emergency Room on Sunday night/Monday morning :(
She had been running a slight fever for about a week with the sniffles, a runny nose and a little fussiness. A little childrens Tylenol everyday was stopping the fever but at dinner time on Sunday she started grabbing her ear and saying "Mommy ear hurt"
Those words were something I was hoping we had avoided but nevertheless I knew we were in for a doctors visit. I took her temperature and it was just slightly high. I figured since it was Sunday night that we could hold out until the morning to go see the Pediatrician.
After the second scene we decided it was time to take her in. After running to the grocery store to get stain remover and carpet cleaning solution we were off to Capital Medical Center' ER.
We registered and took her temperature again. 99.6-- about as high as it had been all week.
Around 11:30pm-- Daddy again was covered in Kaylee throw-up. We tried using the pink bucket they give you but to a two year old it is something strange and she was mostly scared of it when we tried putting it up to her mouth.
Around midnight-- same thing, but this time we managed to hold her up and hit the bucket!
Around 12:30am-- Now she has thrown up two more times!

There was nothing left in her little tummy. We waited and waited and waited. Hour started to go by and we still were not called back. There were three people there when we arrived and all had been called back but we were still waiting.
Finally at around 2:00am I finally found a NURSE to ask about our waiting. She informed me that all of the hospitals in the area were re-routing their ambulances to their ER because their hospitals could not except anymore. There were 4 during the time we were out in the lobby plus all of the people before us. She says this kind of think only happens sometimes though....
YEA well that sometime was the time I needed my daughter to see a doctor!!!
We decided at that point since Kaylee had finally fallen asleep that we might as well just go home and wait the 5 hours until our doctors opened.
5:30am-- Kaylee is awake!!
I stayed up with her for the two hours until the doctors opened while Isaiah tries to get some sleep.
Here is Kaylee waiting at the docs office
7:35am: Our wonderful pediatrician gets a quick look in her ears and says:
"Yep this one is really red and this one is really infected."
INFECTION IN BOTH EARS!!
"Bland foods, rest, and medicine for 10 days"
After what little sleep we had between the ER and the Docs office I was off to school and Isaiah was off to the pharmacy.
They spent the day snuggled in pillows and blankets watching movies and playing with her babies.
We are on day two of the meds and she is starting to get her spunk back :)
Our little girl is growin up! Thankfully she can now tell us what hurts!
(Isaiah jokingly said I was a bad mom for taking pictures of her when she was sick....I said I needed to document this for the future.... or the blog....same thing right?? I WIN!!!)
