Yep.... that's right....
SNOW!!!
We had our first light layer on Tuesday.
{side note.... Kaylee officially had a neighbor girl come knock on the door and ask if she could come play... my little girl is REALLY growing up... tear}
So I bundled her up and off she went.
{of course I was standing on the porch watching her every move and taking a zillion pictures}

Wednesday we woke up to this.....
This is Isaiah's car when he was attempting to try and got to work. After "warming" up the car and walking back outside he decided to just be safe and stay home :)
So we all bundled up and played in the fresh powder

Isaiah taught Kaylee how to make snow angels
And then she covered herself in it
In some parts of our yard she would jump in on her knees and be covered up to her waist
We decide to go for a walk down the street for some lunch at one of my FAVORITE places....
All in all we had a great two days in PNW.....

Another snowy day in Washington!!
Here is what my drive to Stroller Strides was like this morning. It was flurrying like crazy but barely sticking {yes... I made up the word flurrying.....it's my blog I can do that}
ps.... we were totally safe when I took this picture. We were sitting at a stoplight. The truck in front of us decided to try and come into our lane at the last time so me being the nice driver waved him over.... so don't freak out MOM!! :)
The best part about the snow today....
Forcast called for partly sunny with no rain until later this week....
Man I love the weather man!

Man I love the weather man!
And the snow is STILL here!!
On Monday I woke up early to check the school website
to see if school was canceled.
NOPE!
All classes where still on the books.
So Kaylee and I did our normal routine and headed out to Grandmas.
After dropping her off I made the drive to school.

After dropping her off I made the drive to school.
Not to my surprise my professor canceled my second class!
(And I haven't been back since! Two additional days added to my Thanksgiving Break!)
After class was canceled I headed back out to get Kaylee. I was suppose to have a huge Anatomy Test on Tuesday and I wasn't sure if they were going to cancel school or not so I stuck with the plan of having her play at my friend Amy's house for a bit so I could get some much needed study time in.
Here she is leaving Grandma's.

(Before clicking the video scroll down and on the right hand side hit the "pause" button on the music)
At around 6pm I went to pick up Kaylee. It was starting to get pretty bad outside. The snow was not stopping. We started our journey home through some pretty heavy downfall.
We only live about 15 min from Amy's but it was taking ALOT longer than that. The roads were already frozen and the freeway was really bad. We got off on our exit to find they had shut down the road leading to our house. It is a big hill and it looked like medics were on scene from an accident in the middle of it.
I opted to take a different route....which still involved a hill. I made it about half way up when my Scion said " I don't think so" and we started leaning towards the oncoming traffic. I pulled the ebrake and adjusted my tires and we stopped........in the middle of the road facing horizontal!!
I tried not to panic with oncoming traffic coming down the hill. I wasn't the only car stuck so I was worried someone would bounce off of another car and hit me....with KAYLEE IN THE CAR!!
**If you are wondering where my husband was during all of this....well that is another story. He had left work 2 hours prior and was sitting in stopped traffic on the freeway!!***
I called 911 to get some help.... This is how the conversation went:
ME:"Hi.. I'm on Capital Mall Drive with my 2yr old in the car in the middle of the road with oncoming traffic coming at me down the hill"
OPERATOR: "Are either of you hurt"
ME: "No we are fine but we are stuck"
OPERATOR: "You will have to find someone to help you because all of our officers are dispatched right now"

ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!! So much for EMERGENCY HELP!!!
Luckily two guys saw what had happened and offered to get my car off the hill. They finagled it through other stuck cars and into a parking lot.
By now it looked like a blizzard outside!
Then it was time to trek it home. Luckily I had bundled Kaylee up when we left the house that morning. Holding her in my arms we started up the hill.
We made it home. It felt so good to be inside and out of the cold.
Then it was time to worry about Isaiah. He still wasn't moving and of course he only had a 1/2 a tank of gas left!! Oh men, they never think of those things!!
Long story short....He made it home that night safe and sound. He ended up parking his car where mine was and walking home but he made it in one piece.
The next day (since school was canceled and work was out of the question) we decided to take a walk down to the mall for some Starbucks Apple Cider and Hot Chocolate and to let Kaylee play in the indoor playground.
All in all we have enjoyed the weather together as a family. Now its time for the holidays!!

"Oh the weather outside is....delightful..."
I changed the wording in the song to put a positive spin on the events of today!
We came home from church to a soft blanket of snow!
After a much needed nap, Kaylee put on her boots and coat and headed out to the pond outside our front door.
We always tell her not to go in the grass because it is muddy and rainy and fear of her going in the pond, so she was apprehensive at first to venture into it
but after the mommy approval she dug right in.

Gotta love the Great Northwest!!
(PJ's and no makeup.... classic post church Sunday attire for me!)

Well this last weekend was suppose to be the start of summer but it was more liquid sunshine than actual sunshine. I spent the majority of the weekend at work so I don't really feel like I missed out on much. This week is looking better though. Only showing rain on two days! We are almost in shorts weather.....almost!
This week was really really busy for our family. School is coming to an end in a week and a half so I have been busy studying, writing papers, and doing endless amounts of homework. I see the end in site...well at least for this quarter. I am taking summer classes so this hectic life is something I am just going to have to get use to.
Kaylee hit a huge milestone this last week! She has graduated from her high chair to a big girl chair. She decided all on her own that she wanted to sit at the table with me. It is so cute because her mouth is about level with the table. She started using real plates too!! The bib will be around for a while.... :)

With the outside pretty much off limits we spend most of our time coloring and reading.

Our video of coloring is on youtube:

We did have a little fun in the rain over at Grandma and Grandpa Reece's house. I have been trying to mow the lawn for about three weeks now. Every time I have a day off it is raining so we played in the grass that is about as tall as she is.

For the last month or so Kaylee and I have been at war with her car seat. She has started the terrible twos a bit early and has decided that she doesn't want to be strapped in anymore. When I place her in it she decides to throw her pelvis up, stiffen her legs, and wiggle herself so she is facing the car seat instead of sitting in it. I feel like I have tried everything. I showed her how to help me buckle her in. (Not a good idea....now she likes to unbuckle her chest straps while we are driving as you will see in the video.) I've tried distracting her with objects like food, toys, and books. Music seems to be the best thing to work. This next video is of her listening to the radio. (I am stopped and pulled over...not driving and recording)
Kaylee also went to the doctor today for her 18 month checkup. Can you believe she is 18 months already! Two is right around the corner!! She is a healthy little girl. She is now in the 97% for her height and she dropped down to the 10% for her weight. No worries though. The doctor said she is following on her same path she has had since birth. She is healthy and happy and that's all that matters. She now weights in at 21.5 lbs!
American Idol ended last week! Go Lee!! I was a Lee fan all along. We watched as a family as much as possible but Kaylee had her own agenda during this time. Here is another video of her being as cute as can be during Idol. (Its kind of funny because you can hear the show in the background.)

Here is another video of Kaylee dancing to her favorite Yo Gabba Gabba toy!

Well that is all for now.
Oh wait...one more thing..... I colored my hair! Yep I am back to brown. This way you can't tell I have blond roots!
