our week in phone pics {w.25}
4:04 PMSnowmageddon 2012 hit us hard this week causing our power to go out for five days which led us to house hop like gipsies throughout the week. Thank goodness our friends had power, warm water, generators, and wood stoves. Good times!
We started out the week with a daddy daughter date to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D. She loved it! I hung out at home with little man watching reality TV. We ended the night with Isaiah feeding Nathan for the first time with a bottle! Go breast pump!
We headed out in our three inches of snow to play a little bit and build a snow man. After getting cold in the snow we tried out a new Pinterest project, messless finger painting. It was a hit! We finished the night with a little movie time.
Then it happened. We woke up to this! I only took one picture of the snow because shortly after we woke up our power went out. Not good. This was the beginning of our five days of waiting for life to return to normal. I borrowed some pictures from some of my friends on facebook.
Not only did we get a good 13inches of snow but then the freezing rain and wind came and down came the trees. It was crazy!
{thank you Alisha, Jennie, Amy and Krystal. }
We packed up and our friends Chris and Christie came to the rescue. Some how they didn't loose any power. We have no idea how this happened because everyone around them lost it but we were happy to spend a few days hanging out, watching movies, and eating some good ol' junk food. Christie and I were going crazy after two days and needed to get out so we headed to Taco Bell and Target. Luckily Chris has a huge truck so we ventured out in safety.
After a few days there we headed out to the Bippert's house to hang out with them. We had so much fun we forgot to take pictures. Finally our power came back on and we headed home.
Oh what a week it was!
It really made us realize how important a food storage is and a generator. We lost everything in our fridge and freezer....including all of my stored up breast milk.....not good.
We were blessed though to have people around us that love and cared and took us in.
