WOW!! What a weekend!!
It is Monday night at 10pm and I just finished editing ALL of the 1000 or so pictures we took over the span of four days! CRAZY!!
I sometimes wonder what moms did before digital photography.
I can't imagine what life would be like without my SLR, my point-and-shot, my handy camcorder, or my cell phone camera.
I really have no excuse but to film my daughters ever waking moment :)
So hear goes....
I'll break down the Birthday Weekend for ya...
(since there are SOOOO many pictures I put them into collages.
If you click on them they will enlarge for better viewing....your welcome...haha)
It almost felt like Christmas when they walked in with a handful of gifts! I guess being the ONLY grandchild says it all :)

Thursday:
(oh yes... we started celebrating a day early....)
The day before Kaylee's birthday I woke up, picked up the house a bit, then put a roast in the crock pot. My parents were just a few hours away. Isaiah took the time to sleep in a bit and then put together Kaylee's b-day presents:
An Art Easel and Coloring Table

FRIDAY:
HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY! The morning started off with some delicious blueberry mickey mouse pancakes and some Nick Jr Cartoons
That night it was out to Red Robin for a birthday dinner with my parents and Isaiah's parents!

Kaylee ordered her favorite: Mac and Cheese with Apple Slices!
Then the staff came over with a huge Sunday and clapped their way through a birthday song. At first Kaylee didn't really know what was going on. A bunch of adults standing around the table clapping to a loud song.
The Sunday was all that was on her mind after that.

SATURDAY!!
Time to party!!
So as a disclaimer... I LOVE TO PLAN!!
I think it has something to do with my type A personality. I love to dig deep and find my frugal yet sophisticated Martha Stewart side and go with it.
As you probably know already Kaylee's favorite Nick Jr show is Yo Gabba Gabba. If you don't have kids around this age you probably have no idea who Foofa, Brobee, Muno, Plex, and Tootee are. Kids go crazy over these characters!! It is fascinating!
The Gabba Party:

We were so lucky to have a gal that Isaiah knows made this amazing cake and cupcakes!
We put out hats on and the party started!

As soon as the food was accessible Kaylee had her plate and her mouth filled with strawberries and Cheetos. Crazy combo but she loved it!
As you can see her face was covered with food the entire time.
Being that it was a Gabba Party I wanted to have the show playing in the background. Since Kaylee's TV time is limited at home, her eyes were glued to the TV for most of the party.
She did take a moment to make sure that EVERYONE had a Gabba sticker. She is obsessed with any kind of sticker! She will take an entire sheet and put them all over her body. The other day I was changing her diaper and when I moved her shirt out of the way she had them all over her stomach.
Time for Cake and Ice cream!
She even blew out her candle by herself!
(my little girl is growing up...)

After cake it was time for presents. It was hard trying to keep her attention on opening them. Once she opened one she was ready to play.
It almost seemed like Christmas in high speed.

All in all it was a FABULOUS weekend! With friends, family, and lots of love there was nothing more I could have wished for.
Thank you to everyone who made this weekend special and thank you to all of our family and friends who sent their love on Kaylee's special day!
Up next.....
THANKSGIVING!!!
(ps.... Isaiah already put up the tree! Crazy man!)

Veteran's Day!
First let me say I am a proud American! I am a patriot and I support our troops!! I am really proud of today especially because today I can say
THANK YOU to BOTH of my parents!!
Over 20 years ago both of my parents enlisted in the Air Force to serve our country and protect our freedoms. My mother was in Supply and my dad was in EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal.... the movie "Hurt Locker")
(I couldn't find the one picture I wanted of her in uniform
so here is my gorgeous mom with her granddaughter)
The picture below is a GIANT E.O.D badge my dad proudly displays in his house. He received it when her retired a few years back. It has all of his ranks and badges.

Today I want to just say THANKS! to all of the men and women who have served or are currently serving in any branch of the military.
I have made it a personal goal to ALWAYS say thank you when someone says they are in the military. They really don't personally hear it enough from strangers, friends, or family. If you are not from a military family I could see where it could be hard to realize ALL of the sacrifices these individuals make.
So now I challenge you.... Whenever you come in contact with one of our soldiers, take a moment-- reach out your hand-- and say thank you for protecting MY freedom.

I am so overwhelmed with JOY right now!
Today my baby received a blessing.
Usually when a baby is born a few weeks after they will receive a blessing.
I was baptized last December into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and this is one of the many moments I have been looking forward to for my little family.

It was a beautiful day today. The sun was shining but it was raining. I have read once that if it rains on your wedding it is good luck. It is god sprinkling you with happiness for a lifetime. Well I took that as a great omen this morning. Heavenly Father was sprinkling his happiness all over my little angel.
The words the Bishop said to Kaylee in prayer were beautiful. I was weeping with such an overwhelming feeling of the spirit. At first Kaylee was very uneasy and scared but as the spirit filled the chapel she calmed. I opened my eyes to see my best friend cradling our child in his arms as if she were a new born again. No words can express the feelings I had in my heart at that moment.
I was grateful some of our family was able to join in this wonderful day.
Bobbi (Isaiah's mom) made such a beautiful dress and Kaylee was glowing all day.
On our drive home I looked up and saw the most beautiful rainbow spread across the sky.
I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. I am so thankful for a loving husband. I am so grateful to have the gospel in my life and I am so grateful for Randall Vowles and Austin Wilson. You two forever changed my families life.

My next dream.......

The Fourth of July!!
We had a great fourth of July! The best part was the little cutie in her new dress. I was nervous in the morning because it looked like it was going to rain! Of course, nothing like Washington. We had the whole day planned. Church in the morning, nap time and lunch, then head out with the grandparents for a birthday/new fourth of July tradition dinner and then fireworks and the festival down in Tumwater at night. Yep that was the plan....did it turn out that way......of course not! :)

After church, nap time and lunch we met up with Bobbi and Marty (Isaiah's mom and dad) for our delicious all you can eat buffet dinner. Amazing! I love buffets. I love the deception that goes into them. Have you ever noticed how the plates are a bit smaller than normal. Of course you have to try everything right? So you go for seconds and thirds. You want to eat your money's worth.
Kaylee started the night in the high chair but ended up in a booster seat. My little baby isn't a baby anymore and it is hard to deal with.
Here she is rockin my shades.
I love this face. She is so cheesy!
Here is Isaiah getting ready to dig in. We piled up about three plates for our table and eat every last leg. So worth $14!!
Oh yes, and that is a hoodie in July! :(
She thought the legs were the coolest thing. Second best were the shell crackers. I'm going to invest in some of those just for her to play with.
She looked and then went in for the kill. She is a sea food lover like her parents. My hope is she will like sushi when she is older. I know its a stretch but Isaiah won't eat it so I am solo on that dish for now.
Here Kaylee is refusing to look at the camera.... like most shots I get the back of her head.
I even broke down and let Kaylee have a birthday treat. She picked out her own toppings in the dessert line. She chose vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips, sprinkles, and a brownie on the side.
Talk about a sugar high after she finished a few bites.

After such a great meal we started to head down to the golf course where they were going to have the fireworks. This was about 8ish and we thought with the weather the way it was there wouldn't be as many people leaving the house. WRONG!! As we drove up the street and looked down into the valley it looked like every resident of Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater decide to head down there. We gestured to his parents who were following us to pull over at the grocery store. We contemplated our options....Go down and fight the crowd or go home, watch a movie and get some sleep....Four votes.....go home and sleep. So that was our night. We were all home and in bed before the first boom hit the ski.
Oh well.....Maybe next year :)
Swimming!!
Finally the weather was nice this week! We hit the pool a few times. Kaylee loves the water. She is going to be a fish like her mom! She started to jump off the step from Isaiah to me at the end of our swimming adventure last night. Once she was starting to shiver I took her out and warmed her up. She wanted nothing to do with that, she wanted back in the pool. Isaiah ended up taking her home because she wouldn't stay out of the pool.
My mom bought Kaylee this for her birthday last year and today was the first day she actually stacked it. She has played with the blocks from the day we unwrapped them but never in the way there were intended. Her little mind is advancing everyday. I don't think I can take enough pictures and video or her ever changing ways.

We took several videos this week too. The links are below. A few of them are of our little sparklers and pop-its. Another is of Kaylee at the table just talking away. She knows so many body parts. It looks like she is getting cues from someone but it's just her and I. I flipped the screen around on the camera so she could see herself so she is looking at herself on film and then pointing to the body part. So cute!

No really big adventures planned for this next week but I'm sure it will be fun!
